D. I. Abramovych’s Activity in the Commission on Old Ukrainian Literature of All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences through a Prism of Epistolary Documents

Abstract
In article cooperation of the Ukrainian historian of literature and language, archaeographer and palaeographer D. I. Abramovych with All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences is displayed on the basis of the analysis of epistolary documents. The letters of the Ukrainian scholars D. I. Abramovych, V. M. Peretts, O. A. Nazarevsky and K. V. Harlampovych which became a source of a research, are stored in collection of Institute of Archival Studies and Institute of Manuscripts of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. In the article the basic stages of life and scholar activity of D. I. Abramovych who was an author of near two hundred scientific works, are revealed. The special attention is paid to D. I. Abramovych's activity in the Commission on old Ukrainian literature of AllUkrainian Academy of Sciences and his work on "The Kyiv Pechersk patericon". Cooperation of the scholar with other institutions of All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, such as Society of researchers of the Ukrainian history, literature and language in Leningrad, the Commission of All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences for drawing up the biographic dictionary of figures of Ukraine, National library of Ukraine, the Ukraine magazine is displayed. Letters reveal close professional cooperation of D. I. Abramovych with such outstanding Ukrainian scholars as V. M. Peretts, M. S. Hrushevsky, O. A. Nazarevsky, K. V. Harlampovych. Academician V. M. Peretts was D. I. Abramovych's main helper and adviser in the latter's activity in Commission on old Ukrainian literature of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. Activity of the Ukrainian scholars-philologists was directed to research and the academic publication of works of old Ukrainian literature. In the article drawn conclusion about the large achievements of the Ukrainian philologist and slavist D. I. Abramovych in research of prominent works of old Ukrainian literature. Further study of the epistolary documents will allow to open more widely activity of the Ukrainian philologists and slavists in institutions of All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences.
