Abstract

Purpose- The process of managerial decision making is a highly complex activity which is directly linked to the profitability and efficiency of the business. There are rational business decisions that require quantitative data so that effectiveness can be enhanced. Operation research is the process of providing reliable data so that critical problems can be solved. The primary purpose of the research project is to determine the use of operational research techniques in the process of improving managerial decisions. Research methodology- The use of qualitative research supports in developing a more indepth study on the topic. The current research uses the qualitative methods of secondary research through a proper analysis of books and journals. The researcher uses previously written books and papers for further analysis. Results- The application of proper methods of mathematical and quantitative calculation supports in improving the managerial decisions. The operational techniques support in taking proper decision through the analysis of data from the techniques of simulation, problem solving and gaming. Conclusion- Operation research is used to solve complex problems of business through mathematical analysis. This technique is used in various fields of agriculture, production, and business management. The effectiveness of this method is observed through improved business operations and management styles. It also supports in improved competitiveness of the organization through strategic business decisions.
