Abstract
Theoretical and practical aspects of calculating the amount of economic compensation for the effects of anthropogenic pollution of water bodies are considered. It is shown that in conditions when it is practically impossible to eliminate or reduce the level of environmental pollution to harmless biocenoses, economic compensation of losses necessitates the search for alternative and additional sources of funding for contaminated regions.
