ABSTRACT ILLUSTRATION AS A METHOD FOR VISUALIZING PSYCHOLOGICAL NOVELS

The article considers methods of illustrating psychological novels on the example of a new edition of Oliver Sachs' novel « The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Other Clinical Tales». The analysis of features of psychological literature and abstract art was carried out. An experiment with an experimental group of 20 people was set up, the purpose of which was to determine the peculiarities of the perception of abstract works as a method of illustrating psychological novels. Conclusions were made on the expediency of using abstract illustrative material for psychological literature.
