The article considers the problem issue of access to the legal profession. The authors reveal the features of ensuring a person's right to access the legal profession and ways to exercise this right on the example of three European Union member states — Spain, Germany and Italy in comparison with the relevant institution in the legislation of Ukraine. The imperfections of the current Law of Ukraine «On Advocacy and Advocacy» are highlighted and ways to solve them are suggested.
