Abstract
The following paper shows the obtained results of the design and implementation of a low-cost electric drying system with temperature control, for the elaboration of pieces made of plaster of Paris, in the Bogotá city, Colombia. In that way, an improvement of the dry time and, thus, the product quality was achieved. The electric drying system was carried out by a halogen lamp which is the heat source in the oven which maintains stable the optimal temperature using a proportional controller, for drying the plaster pieces. Likewise, the sustainability of the project, analyzing the involved costs and the recovery time of the inversion, was detailed in Colombian pesos (COP).
