REVIEW OF THE APPLICATION OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE DISPOSAL OF SANITARY LANDFILLS IN LATIN AMERICA

This manuscript contains a technical review of the different sanitary landfills in Latin America, investigating in depth their construction method, their operability and their functionality, due that in these countries there has been a great trend in the construction of sanitary landfills with conventional methods, as they can be the area or trench method and from that point there is no progress. The aim is to find an answer to this construction trend, since in European and/or Asian countries the construction method is varied or conventional methods can be complemented with an alternative method such as Fukuoka in Japan, since there are very few Latin American countries that go out of the ordinary and try to implement something new, perhaps better.
