Abstract

His research is a first approach to a model that allows estimating the changes in the spatial distribution of the ecological fringes of the moorland ecosystem under climate change scenarios, taking into account the main climatological variables: temperature and precipitation. The study area corresponds to the Picachos moorland complex, which is part of the 36 complexes fringes identified in Colombia, is located on the watershed of the Magdalena - Cauca river basin, the Amazon basin and the basin of the Orinoco. The identification of the ecological stripes was carried out through the land covers of the study area, these strips were contrasted with the current climatic conditions, in order to identify the climatic niche that allows the development of each one, for later, establish the potential distribution of these according to the future climatic conditions projected by the climate change scenarios established by the 3rd National Communication of Colombia to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (CMNUUCC). The spatial distribution of the ecological bands of the moorland complex, is directly affected by the climatic variation analyzed, finding that the moorland contracts in the scenarios analyzed
