Abstract
The article considers the semantic correspondence of proverbs of the Russian language and the Swahili language. The proverbs of the thematic group "Knowledge" and "Teaching"are identified and analyzed. The author gives equivalent pairs of proverbs and concludes that regardless of nationality, all people think in similar universal categories.
