Abstract
A Delay Tolerant Network (DTN) is a type of Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET). It is defined as an occasionally connected network that may suffer from frequent partitions and that may be comprised of more than one divergent set of protocols or protocol families. It is characterized by high node mobility, low node density, possible node failures including power drain, malicious attacks, short radio range etc. Hence simultaneous connectivity between a given pair of nodes may never exist in such a network. Traditional routing approaches are not suitable for message transfer in these networks. Thus we propose a proactive routing protocol for message transfer in a DTN. In the second section we discussed the commonly used wireless technologies and evaluate these technologies, and we will find which wireless technology is the suitable one for all DTN.
