Abstract
Stock prices volatility always af ects the investors' confidence in stock market, especially during a crisis period whether it's 2008 crisis or the Wall Street Crisis of 1922. Every crisis has a dif erent story and its impact on the stock market is also dif erent, some crisis af ects the overall market and some others af ect some specific sectors of the stock market. Also some crisisimpact globally or some crisis impacts only a specific country. This Coivd-19 crisis is somehow dif erent from earlier crisis on the basis that it is not only af ecting the stock market, but also the economy on global level. This paper examines the impact of Covid-19 outbreak on the stock returns of oil and gas companies during this first 6 months of 2020 especially after the lockdown announcement in G7 countries. This study examines the volatility in the stock prices of oil and gas companies due to the investors' lack of confidence during the Covid-19 period.
