WORK ENGAGEMENT: THE ROLE OF AFFECTIVE WELL-BEING AND SUPERVISOR SUPPORT

Abstract
The engagement of lecturers in the workplace is essential to achieve the expected performance of higher education. To achieve a good performance, it is necessary to have positive emotions. Increased positive emotions are characterized by their vital energy, concentrate, and pleasant involvement. Affective well-being is crucial to meet individual needs by maximizing positive emotions and reducing or avoiding negative emotions. Social support can also increase the likelihood that teaching staff is attached to work. Supervisor support can help eliminate stressors or reduce their adverse effects and help individuals see challenges in a positive way. This study aimed to examine the correlation between affective well-being and supervisor support to work involvement. The sample in this study was 82 lecturers from universities in Indonesia. The results revealed a significant correlation between affective well-being and work involvement (t = 2.856, p = 0,004), and there was a substantial correlation between supervisor support and work involvement (t = 8.321, p = 0,000)
