Abstract
Work-life balance is considered as the balance between roles and responsibilities of work and family. The researcher presumes that work-life imbalance has increased after the concept of “breaking news” in the media industry. This study is therefore designed to investigate the influence of work-life balance (supportive family, working condition and time inflexibility) on employee performance with the mediating role of psychological wellbeing in the media industry of Pakistan. For that purpose, a questionnaire was adopted to collect the data from 213 employees of the selected media houses/organizations of Pakistan. Descriptive and inferential statistics were performed by using SPSS and AMOS (SEM). The results indicate that work-life balance is positively associated with employee performance whereas: psychological wellbeing partially mediates their relationship. They are furthermore recommended to take the respective initiatives and build up the policies to strengthen the work-life balance practices and employee psychological wellbeing which will ultimately improve employee performance.
