POINTS TO BE NOTED WHILE DOING DPR FOR HILLY TERRAIN ROAD PROJECT - CASE STUDY

Abstract
The Objective of this study explains the problems in general and solutions for the same in road projects running through the hilly terrain. This project location is in Western Ghats near to Kerala receives average annual rain fall of 6500mm in a period of 5 months in a year. Two VOPs are planned in this project by putting the NH traf ic below ground level through cutting by allowing the crossroad traf ic on ground level. This system is not at all advisable in this rain prone area.
