Abstract
The interface between trade, environment, and human rights has been accentuated upon by the COVID-19 pandemic which has created a global socio-economic crisis, eventually triggering a political crisis. The pandemic is a wake-up call, exposing our dysfunctional relationship with nature and extreme vulnerability to its devastating implications. Rebooting our economies, demands rethinking, redesigning, and addressing the structural challenges of the system to create a resilient and sustainable economy; that prevents and attenuates against a spillover of zoonotic diseases and protects the environment and human rights. This paper discusses inherent interdependence and conflicts between the trade, environment, and human rights, the role of judiciary cohered to ‘Rule of Law' in pursuit of sustainable development.
