Abstract
One of the problems of manufacturing systems is the Layout. Location of the physical resources such as machines and departments in a plant greatly impact the performance of the production system. Facility layout deals with the arrangement of equipment/spare parts and material handling on a site to minimize the cost of production. The industries such as cement companies have high demands. As a result, time horizons and the fit-up/refit of equipment/spare parts within the facility should be carefully considered. This study is about a store facility and a scenario is presented by using the real-life data of Art Company. Is has been determined through calculations that the proposed location of the main store has great effects on saving (almost 59%) the cost. Apart from economical aspect it also indirectly helps to improve the ergonomics of the plant.
