Abstract
Electronic Waste or E-Waste is said to be the fastest growing stream of hazardous waste in the world. E-Waste is comprised of a variety of inputs including hazardous materials, potentially valuable recyclable materials, different polymers and other inputs. The beneficial properties and the various applications have led to generation of polymer wastes at fastest rate. Since the chemical structure of polymers is very strong and complex, the disposal of the waste polymer becomes a very serious problem. This review paper provides a detailed study about the polymer waste obtained from the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and various approaches involved in recycling of these polymer waste. Also, the markets for recovered materials and various applications have been discussed.
