Abstract

The presence of anomalous penetration of radiation into the metal has been proved by the methods of computational and experimental research. The simultaneous action of the visible radiation and constant magnetic field allows more efficient penetration of electromagnetic energy in comparison with penetration in case of classical skin effect. A comparative analysis of traditional heating in a muffle furnace, heating by visible radiation and heating by visible radiation in the presence of a constant magnetic field is carried out. The presented method allows to sinter electrically conductive powder materials at temperatures significantly in comparison with the temperature in case of the sintering in a muffle furnace. The duration of the sintering process with the use of the effect of anomalous radiation penetration has decreased several times in comparison with the traditional technology. The value of the porosity of the sintered powder iron decreased almost 3 times compared with the initial value. The paper can be useful for solving the problems of improving production performance during sintering of powder materials, and also provides material for a more extensive study of the issues of penetration of electromagnetic radiation into ferromagnetic materials.
