Abstract
Objective: To find out whether there was any significant difference between the effectiveness of core muscle strengthening on stable surface versus on labile surface in subjects with sacroiliac joint dysfunction in reducing pain, improvement in muscle strength and reduction in disability. Method: In a 6-week intervention study, 30 participants with features of sacroiliac joint dysfunction were studied. They were divided into 2 groups by convenience sampling; Group A: Core muscles strengthening exercises on stable surface along with moist pack and Group B: Core muscles strengthening exercises on labile surface along with moist pack. Pre and post treatment data was collected and analyzed using SPSS 26.0. Paired and unpaired t test were used to find out the significance difference between both the groups. Study design: Comparative study Result: A significant improvement in pain, disability and muscle endurance (p‹0.05) after the treatment was found. Greater statistical significant improvement was seen in Group A as compared to Group B. Conclusion: The study concluded that core muscle strengthening exercise on stable surface along with moist pack is more effective than core muscle strengthening exercise on labile surface along with moist pack in treating patients with sacroiliac joint dysfunction.
