Global trends in financial provision of social protection for population

The world development trends having the most significant influence on the process of establishing national social protection systems are discussed. The economic policy machinery aimed at their financial provision is considered. Historical and political events that spurred the development of social protection in the European countries are analysed, and their characteristic features are determined. Problems of national social protection system are pointed out and ways of their solution are suggested.
