Abstract
Clinical presentation and its association with outcome among patients with colorectal disease, although poorly studied in the past, may have an important role in predicting the outcomes among this important cohort of patients. Clinical scoring as proved in other areas in the past may have an important role in outcome prediction. The aim of the study was to study the perioperative outcomes in patients undergoing open and laparoscopic colorectal resections which will add to the existing pool of data. This information will give us a better understanding thereby reducing the morbidity and mortality associated with colorectal resections.
