Abstract
Extracts of the fruits of Embelia ribes collected from different geographical sources were subjected to phytochemical screening in order to identify the nature of constituents present. These extracts were further analysed by HPTLC and HPLC fingerprinting by using embelin as a marker. The Rf values and retention times of constituents were recorded and corresponded peaks were compared with that of the standard embelin.
