Abstract
Marble slurry formed during various steps of marble tile production like crushing, grinding, polishing etc. this slurry when mix with soil results in serious hazards. The amount of calcium and magnesium ions is very high in and these percolate in the ground water as well as in soil and pollute both. Marble slurry also affects pH of soil as it itself is highly alkaline and ultimately makes soil unfertilised.
