Abstract
Hoarding Disorder is characterized by the persistent difficulty discarding the possessions, regardless of their actual value. It can be object or animal hoarding. It is associated with excessive acquiring of items which are not needed resulting in clutter. Hoarding disorder can result into mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression. It can be treated with psychotherapies like cognitive behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy and medications for symptomatic relief.
