Abstract
The medically diverse character of India’s health care landscape has long been a focus for social scientists seeking to characterise particular aspects of its extensive ‘medical pluralism’. Current health policy initiatives in India advocate medical pluralism and seek to address a lack of skilled human resources for health care provision. This review explores the pluralism in health care in India with a particular focus on oral health.
