Abstract
Traumatic closed head injury and subsequent subdural lesions like chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) carry a high risk of recurrence and post- traumatic seizure (PTS). This is particularly significant for an aircrew as sudden incapacitation due to inflight seizure can have disastrous consequences. This article reviews various policies and aeromedical consideration on chronic subdural hematoma for determining fitness of an aircrew for flying in civil and military aviation.
