Abstract
The academic performance of the Filipino students as of now is at stake especially in the major subjects such as mathematics and science. Since Grade 9 is one among the low performer in high school in the said subject matter based on the results in the National Achievement Test last few years, they are used as respondents to be focused in the study as a ground in searching a solution for the problem in education. The researcher used two groups: control group and experimental group. Comparison of the performance of the groups were measured based on the scores obtained from the pretest and posttest. The methods, principles and objectives of lessons are parallel except the instructional materials used. The 10 weeks study involved the gathering of data using the pretest, posttest, observations, and interviews. The result shows that there is a significant difference equal to less than 0.001 in pretest - posttest. Consequently, the experimental group who used the Virtual Laboratory Instructions has higher performance across the topics tested. Thus, the influence of virtual laboratory remarkably stresses its positive contribution to science education. The results and recommendations of the study are intended to improve the skills of students and uplift the achievements in the field of science.
