Abstract
Circumcision is the most common surgical procedure in medicine. The indication for this procedure is controversial. The concept of circumcision, actually, evolved from pre-historic era when the genital markings carried social, religious and cultural significance. What was counted as sociocultural concept has gradually translated into an evidence based procedure for reduction of HIV transmission. This book is an important navigator directing us from primitive ideas about circumcision to the 21st century medically acclaimed benefits.
