Abstract

Background and purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare the treatment techniques of mulligan mobilization with conventional therapy and only conventional therapy in subjects with frozen shoulder syndrome (FSS). Subjects30 subjects with frozen shoulder syndrome. Method: Study design It is experimental study with randomized controlled trial. The subjects were divided in to two equal groups by simple random technique. Before the treatment pretest measurement is taken by standardized index of shoulder function (FI2S) scale. Group A received mobilization with movement and conventional therapy includes shortwave diathermy, pendular exercise, pulley exercise, wand exercise for 5 times per week for 1 month and group B received only conventional therapy. Both the group received treatment for 4 weeks. At the end of 4th week again the outcomes were measured by standardized index of shoulder function (FI2S) scale. Result Overall subjects in both groups improved over the 4 weeks. But statistically significant improvements were found in mobilization with movement and conventional therapy group than with only conventional therapy group. Conclusion: In subjects with FSS mobilization with movement along with conventional therapy are more effective than only with conventional therapy.
