Abstract
Violence is one of the increasing problems in world. Childrens exposure to violent content of media plays an important role for the violent behaviour of adolescents. They are desensitized to violence we cannot avoid the children to the media exposure. This study teaches the students how to interpret the violent content. The purpose was to develop the critical thinking skill of adolescents. For this a pre and post test were conducted among grade 9th school students. An intervention about media violence was given to the students after the pre test. The students more aware of the negative impact of televised violence and how to reduce its influence on them after attaining media literacy training. The findings suggest that media literacy is needed for the betterment of adolescents.
