Abstract
Social Work practice consists of the professional application of Social Work values, principles, and techniques to one or more of the following ends: helping people obtain tangible services; counseling and psychotherapy with individuals, families, and groups; helping communities or groups provide or improve processes. Social work intervention through field work therefore creates a win-win situation for both the Social Worker and the community which accommodates field work. According to many, field work is the most neglected aspect of social work because the kind of dedication that is required for field work is a rare thing to find today. This paper tries to explain the level of intervention undertaken in the community to bring about favorable living conditions.
