Abstract
This paper was written as a reflection on the development and trends on research as well as study of Japanese history in several countries in the context of the development of Japanese Studies on a global level. Education and research on History of Japan was expected to always not static, obsolete and always on the development oriented to the novelty and dynamics following the state of the art. This paper was specially prepared for Curriculum workshop of the Department of History Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia. This paper was written based on review of various secondary sources of research results on Japanese History that are considered relevant in the footnotes.
