Abstract
Background: God has created a very beautiful universe. He created many things in it. The human life is the most beautiful gift of god to universe. The physiological mechanisms are nicely arranged for the different stages of life. There is not a single stage that could become harmful to the body. The continuity of the life on earth is maintained by a birth of new human being. And for that, he has created a very beautiful and precious thing that is MOTHER. Objective: The objective of the study was to assess and compare the level of knowledge and practice on babies growth and development of breast feeding Vs. formula feeding among primipara mothers by structured interview schedule in selected community areas. Design: Comparative study design was used to assess the growth and development of babies on breastfeeding Vs. formula feeding among the primipara mother Results: This table shows 50 % of breastfeed mothers had high knowledge on breast feeding.40 % of breastfeed mothers had moderate knowledge and 1 % of breastfeed mothers had low knowledge on breast feeding. This table shows 100 % of breastfeed mothers had good practice on breast feeding.0 % of breastfeed mothers had average practice and 0 % of breastfeed mothers had poor practice on breast feeding. This table shows 20 % of formula feed mothers had high knowledge on formula feeding.80 % of formula feeding mothers had moderate knowledge and 0 % of formula feeding mothers had low knowledge on breast feeding. This table shows 50 % of formula feed mothers had good practice on formula feed.50 % of formula feed mothers had average practice and 0 % of formula feed mothers had poor practice on formula feeding.
