Abstract
The article analyzes and considers academic ballet as a holistic phenomenon choreographic culture, namely the classical choreography of the late XVIII−XIX century. Analyzed defiance notions of "romantic ballet", "academic ballet". Determined by their representatives − outstanding choreographers of the XVIII−XIX century, as well as formal, technical, stylistic and expressive features of the application in classical ballet.
