Abstract
The objective of this study is to investigate the mediating effect on the relationship between managerial factors and organizational performance of public higher education institutions in Pakistan. Hypotheses were developed to determine the relationships between these determinants and performance of the institutions. Data were collected by means of structured mail survey questionnaires from the 225 faculty deans of the 74 state-owned universities in Pakistan, and multiple regression analysis was conducted to identify the predictive ability of managerial factors as independent variables on organizational performance and corporate entrepreneurship as mediator. The findings reveal positive and significant relationships between managerial factors and performance and full mediation of corporate entrepreneurship between managerial factors and organizational performance. The findings ultimately enhance the field of corporate entrepreneurship which focuses on improving the performance of the higher education institutions in Pakistan.
