Abstract
The medical profession is governed by legislation and by a code of ethics and etiquette. Aim of the study to know awareness about medical negligence among the medical and surgical specialists working in private and Government hospitals and to highlights problem regarding negligence. Medical malpractice is professional negligence by act or omission by a health care provider in which the treatment provided falls below the accepted standard of practice in the medical community and causes injury or death to the patient, with most cases involving medical error.
