Abstract
Teachers regularly use certain speech acts in the classroom, one of which is to use praise to motivate students. However, they need to pay careful attention to students psychological conditions before using the speech acts. Therefore, words to praise are vital to classroom interaction. This act of praising is strongly influenced by the context. Thus, it can be said that teachers not only deliver certain speech but also include particular acts at the same time. This study was approached pragmatically using speech act analysis.
