Abstract
Objective: to conduct histological parallels between human pterygium and modeled by us in rabbits degenerative ? proliferative process associated with the growth of the conjunctiva to the cornea, as close as possible to clinical manifestations of pterygium.
Results. We have developed in rabbits a model of degenerative and proliferative growth of the conjunctiva to the cornea (pterygium model) virtually identifies in histological structure of human pterygium tissue. And it allows not only to use this model for development new methods of surgical treatment of pterygium, but also to recommend it for studing various issues of pathogenesis and treatment of this eye disease.
