Abstract

Parinaud Conjunctivitis or oculo-glandular syndrome ? polyethiological syndrome characterized by follicular, granulomatous conjunctivitis (with or without ulceration), accompanied with enlarged anterior cervical and/or mandibular lymph nodes on the same side. Material and methods. A description of clinical example of isolated Parinaud conjunctivitis in a 13 year old white boy (Ukrainian) without a precise connection with any infection, including cat scratch disease or somatic pathology is provided. Results. The treatment with systemic (per os) azithromycin 500 mg at once, in a course of five days led to recovery. Conclusion. Thus, the only clinical manifestation of B. henselae infection can be isolated Parinaud conjunctivitis, and in the case of granulomatous conjunctivitis, especially in children, felinosis should always be excluded in differential diagno?sis. In individuals without immunity disorders, Parinaud conjunctivitis has good prognosis and requires minimal therapeutic expenses in the form of systemic administration of antibiotics of macrolide class without any other additional pharmacological agents.
