Abstract
The fast technology improvement in communication and information interchange systems, in the last few decades, has led a big problem. The problem a raised when modern machines produced enormous amount of data and the requirement for fast handling becomes necessary. Therefore, image coding techniques and data compression methods have recently appeared to solve the above mentioned problem. In order to reduce the volume of pictorial data which one may need to store or transmit, the research modifies a method for image data compression based on the two-component code, in this coding technique, the image is partitioned into regions of slowly varying intensity. The contours separating the regions are coded by hadmard transform, while the rest image regions are coded by (AMBTC).
