Potential of K?rsehir Province in Terms of Horticulture

Abstract
Krehir is located in the steppe belt of the Central Anatolia Region. In Krehir province, 3.988.774 decares of agricultural value produced in total agricultural area consists of 53.2 % from plant production, 36.6 % from live animal and 10.2 % from animal product value. Due to the restrictive effect of the terrestrial climate seen in Krehir, the agricultural production value of the province is quite low and its share within the country is below 1 %. Fruit is produced at 35.131 decares of total agricultural land and field vegetable production is done at 19.046 decares. In these production areas, 14.078 tonnes of tomatoes and 4.649 tonnes of vineyards are in the first place. In this study, Considering the restrictive effects of the soil, climate and water resources of Krehir provinces and districts, The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and the Turkish Statistical Institute data, on the basis of various scientific articles on the subject, opinions and proposals for assessing the current status and potential of the horticulture in relation to the agricultural areas.
