Abstract

A field experiment was conducted in the Botanical Garden of the Department of Biology, College of Education for Pure Sciences (Ibn Al-Haitham), University of Baghdad, for the 2016-2017 growth season to study the effect of different concentrations of Brassinolide and chelating compounds DTPA and their interaction in some of the growth characteristics of the coriander Coriandrum sativum L. The experiment was carried out using the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) and with three duplicates, which was used in the experience of five concentrations for growth regulator Brassinolide (0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2) mg. L-1 with application of five concentrations for chelating compound (0, 5, 10, 15, 20) mg. L-1. The experiment is thus working (3 5 5), with 75 experimental units, and the experimental units will be fertilized based on their concentrations. The results obtained can be summarized as follows 1. The results showed that the increase in the concentration of the Brassinolide has led to a significance increase in the absolute growth rate and the duration of the biomass at an increased rate 173.81 %, 68.03 % respectively, and has a significance effect on all active compounds of plant at concentration 2 mg. L-1.2. The results showed that the increased concentration of the chelating compound DTPA led to a significance increase in the rate of absolute growth and biomass duration by increase of 46.77 %, 38.33 % respectively, and have a significance effect on all plant active compounds at 20 mg. L-1.3. The study showed that the treatment with Brassinolide hormone and DTPA and their interaction led to a significance increase in all studied characteristics.4. Results of High Performance Liquid chromatography (HPLC) showed eight compounds in the essential oils of coriander are (Camphor, Limonene, Cis-dihydroxycarvone, Cymene, Linalool, Geraniol, geranyl, Alpha terpineol). The results also indicated that the two study factors had a significance effect on the concentration of active compounds alone as well as the interaction between them.
