Abstract
This paper discusses the methods involved in the development of a Simple Malayalam Verb and Noun Morphological Analyzer. Since in Malayalam, words can be derived from a root word, a purely dictionary based approach for Morphological analysis is not practical. Hence, a Rule-cum-Dictionary based approach is followed along with the Suffix Stripping concept. The grammatical behavior of the language, the formation of words with multiple suffixes and the preparation of the language are dealt with here, with examples of noun and verb forms in detail.
