Abstract
According to the previous studies in the duodenal mucosa in relation with age, there was no consensus. Goblet cells were seen in the villi and the base of crypts of Lieberkunn. They will appear from14 weeks of gestation. According to present study, there is definite decrease in the number of absorptive columnar cells in all four parts of duodenum with increasing age.
