Abstract
The present study deals with the synthesis, characterization, thermal stability and structural elucidation of chelates of salicylates (2, 4 dihydroxy benzoic acid and 2-hydroxy 5-sulpho salicylic acid) with rare earth metals (La3+, Pr3+, Nd3+, Eu3+and Tb2+). The structural elucidation of synthetic chelates was carried out by X-ray diffractro meter. The chelates were characterized by FTIR and thermal stability was checked out by TGA/DTA and DSC.
