Abstract
A well design of any reliable wireless sensor network must address the requirement of applications and must be able to solve all the issues raising at various levels. The issues and requirements of reliability improvement mechanisms relies on the available resources and application for which the WSN is deployed. This paper presents a survey on several existing reliability models. Wireless Sensor Networks are still distrusted with respect to reliability. Many researchers have proposed different mechanisms to ensure desire reliability in wireless sensor network. Most of the present schemes employ to reduce packet loss ratio, end to end retransmissions, maximizing information that reaches to the sink& eventually optimizing several parameters of WSN by taking into account trade off between them.
