Abstract
Image Segmentation is an important and challenging factor in the medical image segmentation. This paper presents comparative study of two techniques used for brain tumor detection from pre-processed MR Images. In one of the two methods, edge based segmentation technique is used and in the other one brain tumor is detected by using segmentation based on soft computing with Hierarchical Self Organizing Map (HSOM).
