Abstract
The present paper gives the idea about the Algal biodiversity in Dhanbad district which was investigated in clean and polluted environment in and around the coalmine areas and samples were collected in different zones of coal mining with different degrees of pollution. Different species of algae were found in different zones. The species richness varied in non-polluted zones& polluted zones. This work will help in determination of range of variation among algal community& water quality in this area. The total abundance of green algae was compared from non-polluted zones with polluted zones.
