Abstract
There have been efforts to promote use of woodfuel conservation technologies. These technologies include the improved charcoal stoves, the improved fuelwood stoves and the fireless cookers that can save woodfuel of upto 50 %. This study was carried out to determine the social economic factors influencing adoption of these technologies. Income of the household and level of education were positively correlated to acquisition and use of the energy saving technologies. While the numbers of dependants and cost of improved woodfuel energy saving technologies were found as some of the social economic factors influencing adoption of these technologies.
