Abstract
In this paper a real time vision based system is proposed to monitor driver fatigue. The whole system is built on the raspberry pi using the Raspbian operating system and OPENCV library for computer vision. The programming of the system is done by using C++ and PYTHON for GPIO programming of raspberry pi development board. The facial features are detected by Haar cascade classifier based on object detection algorithm. The eyes area are detected by using the function in the OpenCV library and tracking by using template matching method. . Vision- based driver fatigue detection method is a natural, non-intrusive and convenient technique to monitor drivers vigilance. This dissertation attempts to study the drivers drowsiness technique on Computer Vision (OpenCV) platform which is open source and developed by Intel.
